That’s why, to get that all important experience that so many employers desire, it can be a good idea to volunteer or seek out an unpaid internship. Look for local organisations who need help with a specific event or an ongoing weekly commitment. Donating your time to a good cause demonstrates you are willing to help others and are engaged in your local community. Alternatively, gaining hands-on, practical experience through an unpaid internship can be a great way to open employment doors. Not only, will you be able to add your new skills to your resume, but you will also meet people in your desired industry and if you do well, it may just turn into a permanent position.
